A dream about working somewhere that makes cool tools.<br>Press enter or click to view image in full size

A nice bland logo for the company making the future of industrial tools!This dream doesn’t really have much to it, but there some interesting enough aspects to include.<br>In the dream I have gotten a job with NOIOAAPPS, a company that makes modern high quality handyman’s tools with a lot of IT components to it. Their motto was our tools keep you informed because the tools while fulfilling the function of such a tool also had an informational aspect that would tell you to best use the tool, also with some integrated dashboard components so that a team using these tools could be better tracked on how they were fulfilling their tasks.<br>The only other detail I remember about the company is it was originally a French company.<br>Much of the dream had this shade of blue in it, to the little darker one also found in the logo. There was just a lot of blue, also wide open blue skies (during road trip part of dream) etc.

This was the color of the NOIOAAPPS trucks, and their employees coveralls etc. but now i’m getting ahead of myself. It’s probably going to get difficult to keep referring to the company as NOIOAAPPS so I think I will just going to refer to them as N.<br>Anyway as a new hire I am going with others on a long road trip to a workshop, we are in a large truck that is relatively comfortable to be in. At some point we have to stop because there is a mechanical problem and we are sitting outside on the grass by the highway while one of the guys who is an older employee has to fix the problem, he takes out one of their tools, a digital tire gauge that uses some sort of machine learning in the tool to predict which tires are the most likely to have the problem. So he goes and checks, fixes one tire. While doing that I was thinking who is the idiot UX guy who came up with this, you generally know what tire you want to check the pressure on you don’t need to be told where to look for the problem. Then again since it’s my dream I sort of have to think the idiot UX-er was me.<br>So then we load up and go to a factory where the chief of my division goes through some of the tools they have and how they want to improve the analytics and digital displays and service platform they have that allows you to manage all tools together, etc.<br>We all get dressed up in those blue coveralls I talked about, a sort of research scientists for industry look.<br>We talk about a wielding solution that helps you make the optimal wield which I do on making a sword (In shop class in high school like lots of nerds forced to take shop I made a badly wielded sword)<br>The tooling was a combination wielder that had some sort of real time video feed and extrapolation display in a pair of smart wielder’s glasses, so you’re wielding but it detects you are going to mess up it gives you warnings so you can get back on track.<br>It came out really well I was impressed, I asked if employees got discounts on the tools and yes, 50% discount on purchase or a rental agreement for up to one month on any 10 tools (if you have some project at home)<br>After this there was more of the dream but I don’t remember and then we were at corporate headquarters — I believe it was the same company N. I mean the chief I had seemed to be the same guy, everyone was wearing those same blue coveralls, but there was one thing that on waking made me think maybe not.<br>We were supposed to give a speech (each inductee to the company, this was part of their team-building onboarding ritual evidently) and the speech was supposed to be about a fantasy product or line of products that you would like to make and I decided “I know, I’ll make the speech about that fancy tool company named N. that makes the self-notifying, machine learning enabled tools!”<br>Which I mean I’m pretty sure that was the company in the dream I was in at the moment, that it was the same dream but of course the interesting aspects of this was<br>My dreaming mind just decides huh we’ve got some interesting tools here he can talk about those, let’s get cracking!<br>I was not aware I was in a dream but I was aware that the road trip and the tire gauge and the factory with the wielding practice was a dream.<br>Anyway I woke up before I was able to actually start my speech but I remember feeling excited to give it because I thought the idea was pretty good and maybe N. would decide to start making the products in my dream!
