"A tool." Most tools come with safeguards or clear consequences for their misuse: GenAI has neither. Lots have been said about the environmental damage and plagiarism inherent to it, but the ethical tone-deafness of recklessly pushing an anti-human "tool" at a crucial historical juncture marked by division, runaway capitalism and governments serving corporations rather than people, and to still try to pass it off as a boon for humanity… is an abomination. I do believe there is a way for technology to help us in the future, but this ain’t it.
