Abstract

With the advent of IPv6-mostly networks, we are finally getting to a state where native IPv4 is becoming optional in access networks. What started more than a decade ago in mobile operating systems is now slowly happening in desktop computers as well - pioneered by macOS, proper IPv6-only support is now also available as a preview on Windows 11 and in the NetworkManager on Linux.
