Common questions

Do I need an AI subscription?<br>For Claude: yes — Lobsteady uses your own Claude Pro ($20/mo) or Claude Max ($100/mo) subscription from Anthropic, giving you unlimited flat-rate usage. For Gemini or OpenAI, you'll need an API key instead. We don't resell API credits.

Which platforms are supported?<br>Telegram, Discord, and Slack. You'll need to create a free bot on your chosen platform — the setup wizard walks you through it step by step with no technical knowledge required.

What happens when I cancel?<br>Your DigitalOcean server is deleted at the end of your billing period. There are no partial-month refunds, but you won't be charged again after cancellation.

Can I use it for coding tasks?<br>Yes — Lobsteady runs Claude Code, which means your assistant can read and edit files, run shell commands, search the web, and more. You can point it at any project directory.

Is my data private?<br>Your conversations go directly between your messaging platform and your AI provider's API — we don't log or inspect them. Your server runs in an isolated DigitalOcean VPS.

Can I change my messaging platform later?<br>Yes. SSH into your server and edit ~/.cc-connect/config.toml, then restart the service. A dashboard for this is coming soon.
