As a perpetually evolving reflection of the creatures that continually invent things, for good or ill, it’s a moving target. What a definition means to one generation may be quite different a couple more down the road. Why?<br>English doesn’t borrow from other languages . Phun With Phonetics?<br>Recently I saw a YouTube video by Kasia Babis where she lamented her decades of studying English as a second language still being a source of frustration because of how letters can entail different sounds in different contexts. This is a complaint with merit!<br>It is especially valid considering, in my brief exposure to her script writing and pronunciation, she has fluency and competence with the language above and beyond many native speakers born and raised in the United States. As a guitarist of 30 plus years, I deeply respect people who take on a difficult form of expression and then practice their technique to reach a level of execution that aligns with their ambitions. Many give up, those that do not, well…game recognizes game…<br>An LLM Isn’t Really A.I., So Stop Using That Abbreviation and Instead Use AINESS<br>Step 1:<br>Pronounce the “AI ” part of the word like you would in the verb “AIM ”<br>Step 2:<br>Pronounce the “NESS ” like the suffix employed to indicate an amount or expression of something, as in “KINDNESS ”<br>Step 3:<br>Pronounce “AINESS ” like “ANUS ”<br>Result:<br>Now you can laugh at any company that wants to brag about how their AINESS is so great.<br>Now people claiming AINESS in the workplace through massive LLM adoption is the future kind of make sense.<br>Now you can look at a giant data center and quietly chuckle to yourself with the knowledge that man oh man look at all that AINESS.<br>Press enter or click to view image in full size
