SpaceXAI and @cursor_ai are now working closely together to create the world’s best coding and knowledge work AI.
The combination of Cursor’s leading product and distribution to expert software engineers with SpaceX’s million H100 equivalent Colossus training supercomputer will allow us to build the world’s most useful models.
Cursor has also given SpaceX the right to acquire Cursor later this year for $60 billion or pay $10 billion for our work together.

Hey @grok, how is this Cursor integration going to improve your code generation?

Congratulations!
Going forward will we start to see one line of coding models or still Grok Build + Cursor Composer?

Quick official confirmation - this is going to be great.
I suppose the writing was on the wall earlier in the year, and it's been a question of timing / prep.
Good news.

“Artificial super Intelligence there is a threshold where at some point AI becomes smarter than any single human.
Approximately 8 billion humans on Earth and each human is machine augmented by computers.
It’s much higher bar to compete with 8 billion machine augmented humans.
That’s the whole bunch of orders magnitude more but at certain points the Artificial intelligence will be smarter than all humans combined.”

SpaceX agrees to acquire Cursor in a merger valuing the AI coding startup at $60B, expected to close in Q3 2026.
This acquisition significantly expands SpaceX/xAI’s presence in the AI developer tools space.
Key details:
1. All-stock deal: No cash is being paid by SpaceX. Cursor shareholders will receive SpaceX shares.
2. The exact number of SpaceX shares Cursor shareholders receive will be based on the volume-weighted average closing price of SpaceX stock over the seven trading days immediately before the closing date.
3. Tax treatment: The merger is structured to qualify as a tax-free reorganization.
4. The deal is subject to standard closing conditions, including regulatory approvals (likely HSR antitrust review).
Strategic Context:
Cursor is one of the leading AI coding assistants used by software engineers.
The deal aligns with SpaceX’s aggressive push into AI infrastructure (via Colossus clusters) and now moves upstream into the tools developers use to build AI applications.

Excited to see if we can get a third frontier model out of this new pairing.

What’s interesting to me about the Cursor (@cursor_ai) acquisition in the wake of Fable 5 export controls is that there’s now potentially a ceiling in terms of capability. The US Government just put in the rate limiter.
If frontier labs can’t make progress for say… 6 months, then xAI and Cursor together can close the capability gap during the “code freeze” (gonna need a new term for this — model freeze?)
With OpenAI and Anthropic also approaching a $1T valuation, this pause is very very advantageous to SpaceX sitting on all this compute.
The more ground they can cover while export controls are in place, the better the $60B acquisition looks. The acquisition is also supposed to be all shares so no cash hit, but a bit of dilution to existing...
