Lenovo has updated its 2-in-1 ThinkPad range with the ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1 Gen 2. Announced in March, the new laptop joins the regular ThinkPad T14s, now on its Gen 7 model. For reference, the ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1 Gen 2 features Intel Panther's Lake platform, rather than the Intel Arrow Lake processors powering the Gen 1 model we reviewed last year (curr. $1,299 on Amazon).

Unfortunately, the 2-in-1 is considerably more expensive than Lenovo initially claimed it would be. To recap, the ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1 Gen 2 was slated to arrive this month starting at €1,750 in the Eurozone. While the laptop has reached the Eurozone, among other markets, it has done so for between €2,079 and €2,299.

However, that may be because of Lenovo's chosen starting configuration. Currently, these starting prices include 32 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD, as well as a Core Ultra 5 325 processor and an IPS display combining a 1200p resolution with 400 nits peak brightness, 45% NTSC colour space coverage and a 60 Hz refresh rate. The same goes for the UK, where the laptop retails for £1,999.

By contrast, Lenovo offers full configuration options in Australia. At the time of writing, the ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1 Gen 2 starts at AUD 3,349 (~€2,059/~$2,395) in Australia with 16 GB of RAM, a 256 GB SSD and the same Core Ultra 5 325 processor. The following five other Panther Lake processors are also available:
Core Ultra 5 335 vPro
Core Ultra 7 355
Core Ultra 7 365 vPro
Core Ultra 7 356H
Core Ultra 7 366H
Moreover, the ThinkPad T14s 2-in-1 Gen 2 can be configured with up to 64 GB of RAM, but only with a Core Ultra 7 366H processor. Lenovo charges AUD 6,489 (~€3,990/~$4,639) for this configuration, making it 93.7% more expensive than the laptop's base configuration. Also, Lenovo lists 512 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB PCIe 5.0 SSDs, as well as four 1200p IPS panels. Although more expensive options peak at 500 nits with 100% sRGB colour space coverage, all are 60 Hz panels. Please see Lenovo's website for more details.
