The Commodore flip phone is how much?

Commodore is on a journey to bring back their computers and advertising the end of social media. It's a lofty goal and plays on nostalgia but I am not that customer.

Today they announce a phone, a flip phone with no social media available in various colors called the Commodore Callback.

My jaw dropped when I saw the price of $ 767 Canadian! Are you joking?! That is more than the $ 418 Canadian for the basic bread bin computer.<br>I don't understand why Commodore is taking this path where other "dumb phone" manufacturers are struggling to sell. I've never seen any Light Phone, Minimal or any other niche brand phone. Even the Clicks Communicator costs less and gives me that Blackberry nostalgia that I would support.

When I see the spec sheet, I can't figure out why the cost is so high. External storage is maxed out at 256GB which is perhaps a limitation due to the CPU. That isn't a lot of music especially for Commodore including audiophile DAC and headphones.

I'll look forward to reviews and jokes about this phone's price. I'm sure a snarky comment will be in every review article.
