I'm giving up on tech as a hobby, so done

I've been frustrated for awhile now with tech and what I use. I go back and forth from platforms to try and find some comfort but after a few days something annoys me. Before I used to take a break and it would be fine but lately, I just feel lost with tech now.

I have no idea where I fit these days because every operating system frustrates me. I think I have less frustrations with Linux on a ThinkPad and GrapheneOS on my Pixel 7. That has something to do with how Windows and MacOS and iOS are heading, so I feel I need to invest all of my time in one thing and stop trying.

The last straw today was giving up on my music management project. It's to the point I don't want to listen to any music now. I feel overwhelmed with it not working on mobile or the car like it used to be. There is always something that doesn't work.

I guess this is the world we live in now and I don't like it. My wife told me to give up on any other plans I have because I will be disappointed. She's probably right. Do I really need to have an older Mac or Windows PC for iTunes to sync with iPods? It's cumbersome and frustrating to manage another separate system that is old and not supported.

I've been turning off my computers at night because I just have no desire to leave them sleeping. I don't need to use them because all they do now is kill time like watching TV for me. When I'm searching for a job, or writing an email or updating my blog that is when I need a computer. Besides that, I'm done with all of this. I'm ready to box away older stuff since selling isn't working for me at the moment. Guess no one has money for old tech these days.

This hobby used to bring me joy but now tech is one bad story after another. There is nothing to get excited about. It is sad how something that gave me comfort for decades has just become a memory of what it used to be.
