[–]bennyblancobb 58 points59 points60 points 8 hours ago* (14 children)<br>Ok and here comes the msft bashing in the comments. It's always the same. If a stock underperforms then to everybody the reasons are completly obvious, and if it overperforms people are so smart to catch all the upside responsible for it. Old as the stock market itself.
MSFT like other Software companies aren't going anywhere in near future. I am working in cloud migration and azure is just present as other clouds. Sure developers rather work with google or aws but all have there great niche and their bad stacks. For microsoft its defeneder and sentinel in combination with azure ad. There isn't currently to much competition on those. Sure google has their SIEM and others also but there are nowhere near the market share in Europe at least and nowhere near as good. And to them also to stick to Kubernetes on Azure makes almost 0 difference from other Clouds. Just another check and no other contracts with companies needed.
For companies to switch those systems it mostly comes only from developers since they want another shiny thing to work with (including me). From Org logic it makes 0 sense. The outages are everywhere over the year almost the same. (AWS draged half the internet into lag last year).
So to all those mentioning all the bugs and outages sure but give me another company who hasn't suffered from anything in those stacks. Anyway the market however can remain unrrational longer then one can remain solvent.

Stock down? Reddit screams it's a shit stock and deserved.
Stock up? Reddit screams how well it performs and that it has been predictable.
