WHO CAME CLOSEST TO A REAL 38-0 SEASON?

The 38-0 challenge is rooted in a real football obsession. In the entire recorded history of the top 5 European leagues, no team has ever gone unbeaten across a full 38-match season with all wins — but some came agonizingly close.

Arsenal's Invincibles in 2003-04 went 38 Premier League games unbeaten — the greatest unbeaten run in English football history. But that achievement covered 26 wins and 12 draws. A perfect 38-0 — all victories, no draws — remains the one record that has never been touched in the history of the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, or Ligue 1.

Real Madrid's 2011-12 side under Mourinho set the La Liga points record with 100, but still dropped 6 across the campaign. Bayern Munich came closest in the Bundesliga, but even Guardiola's machine could not sustain 34 consecutive wins against top-flight opposition. Icons appear in your draft pool at approximately a 5% pull rate per spin. When one surfaces among your five options, that is a genuine decision moment. A 95-rated Pele or a 94-rated R9 transforms your tactical blueprint — but only if you have built the right support structure around them. Icons in the wrong formation will still cost you matches in the 38-0 engine.
