Pakistan, which mediated the tentative ceasefire between the two nations, on Wednesday night called on "all parties to exercise restraint."
"Pakistan urges all sides to uphold their respective commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)," the Pakistani Foreign Office said in a statement.

"The secretary-general calls on all parties to exercise maximum restraint, avoid any further escalatory action, and take immediate steps to de-escalate," his spokesperson said.

Iranian media has broadcast the government's response to Trump's latest comments.
Citing unnamed officials, PressTV said that Tehran promised to completely close the Strait of Hormuz if the US made good on its threats. Closures to the key waterway earlier in the year rocked the global economy due to its importance for shipping, especially the transport of fuel.
In the same report, the Iranian government promised to strike enemy targets "by a ratio of two to one," if attacked.

US President Donald Trump threatened to strike Iran's civilian infrastructure again on Wednesday, including electric plants and desalination plants, as well as Kharg Island, home to a significant amount of oil infrastructure.
"We hit them very hard last night," Trump said when asked about the end of the ceasefire on the sidelines of a NATO summit in Turkey. "We’ll probably hit them hard again tonight."
He added that "they are behaving very badly," and accused Tehran of launching missile strikes on commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
His comments appeared to double down on earlier statements that the fragile, often broken, ceasefire between the two countries was completely over.
However, negotiations still appeared to be ongoing despite both sides trading tough talk.
"The era of bullying and extortion is over," Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf wrote on X. "It leads nowhere. We don’t fold."

The European Union's foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, said that the latest exchanges of fire between the US and Iran "further complicate already fraught talks to end the war."
Kallas also condemned Iran's attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait, saying they are "unacceptable."
"Under the memorandum, Tehran committed to reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Its recent attacks on ships near the Strait violate that commitment and threaten to disrupt the resumption of energy supplies," Kallas said, adding that freedom of movement needed to be unimpeded.
Kallas said EU foreign ministers would be meeting next week with Gulf counterparts to discuss how best to support the implementation of the agreement to maintain freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
