Silo Terminal Profile

A dark Apple Terminal / Windows Terminal profile for anyone who has looked at a glowing green screen and decided not to say they want to go outside.

It borrows from the visual world of Silo: Sheriff's Office records, Judicial forms, IT relic searches, Mechanical status readouts, and those 144 levels of quiet suspicion.

Black-green background. Pale phosphor text. Brighter cyan and blue command output. Yellow-green status colors. Moody, but still readable. The Pact would allow it.

Install

Apple

1. Get the profile

Download Silo.terminal or clone this repository:

git clone https://github.com/onehorizonai/silo-terminal.git<br>cd silo-terminal

2. Import it into Apple Terminal

Open Terminal

Go to Terminal > Settings

Select the Profiles tab

Click the ••• menu beneath the profiles list

Select Import….

Choose the downloaded Silo.terminal file

Select the newly imported profile

Click Default if every new window should use it

Windows

1. Get the profile

Download Silo.json or clone this repository:

git clone https://github.com/onehorizonai/silo-terminal.git<br>cd silo-terminal

2. Import it into Windows Terminal

Open Windows Terminal

Open Settings

Select Open JSON file at the bottom

Copy the contents of Silo.json into the "schemes" array in your settings file

Save the file

Select the Silo Dark scheme in your profile settings

Click Save

Optional: use Ioskeley Mono Regular

Ioskeley Mono Regular is optional, but it suits the profile. It has the squared-off old-terminal feel without making small text hard to read.

After installation:

Open Terminal > Settings > Profiles

Select the imported profile

Open the Text tab

Click Change… next to the font

Select Ioskeley Mono Regular

Recommended size: 12 or 13

Or for Windows Terminal:

Open Windows Terminal > Settings

Select the profile to customize

Open the Appearance tab

Select Ioskeley Mono Regular as the font face

Recommended size: 12 or 13
