Am I missing the plot for refusing to hop on calls from VCs who want to invest in my early-stage startup because I want only YC?My reasoning is that I sell software and data to startups and big tech, and so I need proximity to them more than I need money, though I do need money. I literally cannot build this company without it.What I need most is an investor with an ecosystem that gives me access to technology executives/target market, without having to continue relying on cold-outreach through email, LinkedIn, X DMs, which has a ridiculously low success rate.My assumption is that YC gives me the strongest combination of funding, credibility, founder network, and proximity to potential customers. Because of that, I have ignored messages from some VCs and accelerators.Am I being rightly strategic, or am I creating an unnecessary single point of failure by refusing conversations before I even know what those investors can offer or whether YC will say yes?
