My team was managing a shared mailbox by using coloured labels and read/unread statuses just to track who had replied to an email. Not ideal. That s why I built ServiceBeard.ServiceBeard is an open-source sync tool which polls your IMAP server for new mail and creates new issues on your repo/project, or posts comments if it s a reply to an existing thread. In the other direction, any comments on the issue triggers an outgoing email to the customer (using your SMTP server).The obvious use-case is setting up a service desk using existing infrastructure, but I m curious to see what other use-cases come up.I m Joram, the solo developer who built ServiceBeard. I m looking for honest, early feedback: is this something you d use? What could be improved, and what features should be added? I d love to hear your thoughts!
