Joy-Con (L) (HAC-015(-01)) Battery Replacement Procedure
Introduction<br>This page provides information on how to replace the battery HAC-006(-01) in the Joy-Con (L) controller HAC-015(-01), and is intended for use with the Nintendo Battery Replacement Kit HAC-006(-01). These products will be available to purchase from Nintendo Store in the future.<br>Please note: there are two different models of the Joy-Con (L) controller:<br>HAC-015(-01): contains a user-replaceable battery<br>HAC-015: contains a battery that is not user-replaceable

Warning
Battery replacement should always be performed by an adult.
Please read and observe the following warnings and instructions carefully. Failure to do so could result in injury or damage to the controller.
If using a battery from another manufacturer, please read the instruction manual for that product carefully and follow the manufacturer's instructions. Please ensure that you use only a compatible battery. There is a risk of fire or explosion if an incorrect battery is used.
Do not use batteries that have been subjected to strong impact or to heat, are deformed or otherwise damaged. Dispose of damaged batteries at the earliest opportunity.
If you feel the battery heating up during the replacement process, stop the replacement process immediately. Keep the battery away from flammable materials until its temperature returns to normal levels, then dispose of the battery at the earliest opportunity.
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage electronic components. Before disassembly, touch the floor or wall to discharge static electricity from your body, and work on a non-metallic surface such as a wooden table.
Once started, complete the replacement promptly and do not leave or transport the device in a disassembled state. Handle small parts removed during disassembly with care, and keep the product and its parts out of the reach of young children.
This procedure should only be performed in a dry location, away from liquids and humidity.
Do not place any foreign objects inside the product while it is disassembled or allow liquid to get inside. Check carefully that no foreign objects or liquids are inside before reassembly.
Follow the instructions closely. Note that all steps for replacing the battery can be performed without use of excessive force.
During reassembly, be careful not to overtighten or undertighten the screws, as this may cause damage to the screws and surrounding components.
