Advances in
Real-Time Rendering in Games
Welcome to the home of the
well-established series of SIGGRAPH courses, covering late-breaking work and
advances in real-time computer graphics for games!
This course was
first presented in SIGGRAPH 2006 in Boston, MA.
Since then, now two
decades, we have continued bringing you the state-of-the-art techniques from
the game development community, as well as innovative graphics methods and
forward-looking research with the emphasis on practical implementations.
Advances in
Real-Time Rendering in Games endures because its more than a technical session
- its a living time capsule of the state of real-time rendering. Every year,
it brings together the visionaries, the tinkerers, the optimists who believe
that you can push one more millisecond, one more polygon, one more photon.
This program is not
just the victories of innovation or the pragmatic constraints that make those
breakthroughs production-worthy in the most demanding software pipelines we know: video games. Advances dives
deeper. It explores limitations, surfaces intuition, and shares the tradeoffs
behind the choices. That spirit of honest, rigorous storytelling is what helps
our community grownot only by learning from what worked, but from what didnt.
We talk openly about what didnt workand why. That culture of shared
exploration is what makes Advances meaningful: its a place where we all learn
together, not just from success, but from the honest, hard-earned
lessons too. Its a community built on generosity of sharing the learning, together.
Its a celebration
of curiosity made concrete.
The presentations in the later Advances
years are now available on Advances in
Real-Time Rendering YouTube channel
