Audio Submission Consent and Release<br>Consent to Use<br>You grant Project CETI and National Geographic Society, together with their affiliates, partners, licensees, and designees, a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable right and license to use, reproduce, edit, adapt, modify, publish, distribute, publicly perform, publicly display, transmit, translate, create derivative works from, and otherwise use your Submission, in whole or in part, in any media now known or later developed.<br>Public Communications and Exhibitions<br>You understand and agree that your Submission may be used in connection with the Listen to the Whales campaign in public-facing materials, including but not limited to:<br>Social media content<br>Websites and digital platforms<br>Marketing and promotional materials<br>Documentary or educational content<br>Live or virtual events<br>Museum, gallery, conference, or public exhibitions<br>Press and media communications<br>Use of Name and Likeness<br>If you provide your name, image, voice, social media handle, location, or other identifying information, you grant permission for Project CETI and the National Geographic Society to use such information in connection with your Submission.<br>No Compensation<br>You understand that you will not receive payment, royalties, compensation, or approval rights for any use of your Submission.<br>Ownership and Permissions<br>You represent and warrant that:<br>You created the Submission or otherwise have all necessary rights and permissions to submit it;<br>The Submission does not infringe the rights of any third party;<br>Your Submission does not include confidential, private, or sensitive personal information;<br>Any individuals identifiable in the Submission have provided appropriate consent.<br>Right to Edit and Moderate<br>Project CETI and the National Geographic Society reserve the right, but not the obligation, to review, edit, crop, excerpt, translate, caption, refuse, or remove any Submission at their sole discretion.<br>Minors<br>If I am submitting on behalf of a minor, I represent that I am the minor’s parent or legal guardian, and I hereby provide consent on your behalf prior to submission.<br>Data and Privacy<br>Any personal information collected in connection with your Submission will be handled in accordance with the applicable privacy policies of Project CETI and the National Geographic Society. Please see the National Geographic Society Privacy Notice for information on how the National Geographic Society would use, share, protect, and give you control over your data. I acknowledge that once I make a submission, removing my voice, likeness, or other personal information from media would require a disproportionate effort and may not even be technically possible.<br>Release of Claims<br>To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and discharge Project CETI, the National Geographic Society, and their respective affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, partners, and agents from any claims arising out of or related to the use of your Submission, including claims relating to publicity rights, privacy rights, copyright, defamation, or moral rights.<br>Voluntary Participation<br>Your participation is voluntary, and by submitting your recording, you confirm that you have read and understood these terms and consent to the uses described above.

1. Listen<br>Begin by listening to the whales. Explore our collection of whale recordings and emerging research into their communication. Let their sounds spark curiosity and a deeper sense of connection.

2. Reflect<br>Reflect on what we want to understand about whales and how they see our shared world. What can we learn by listening? What questions do their voices inspire?

3. Record<br>Add your message to The Deep Archive and join us in curiosity, wonder, and listening. These recordings are being collected in a creative effort to understand what we humans collectively want to learn from whales.

Your message will stay on land (not sent to the whales) and may be used in future storytelling projects by CETI and the National Geographic Society.
