Business and tech leaders have welcomed Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s ambition to establish Australia as a global leader in artificial intelligence, but warn that flawed policy execution could jeopardise the foreign investment required to achieve it.<br>In a speech at the University of Sydney on Wednesday, the prime minister reversed Labor’s hands-off approach to AI regulation by announcing a new Office of AI within his own department, and new legislated Australian AI standards that would include the need for large-scale data centres to generate as much power as they use.<br>Loading...
