DART Framework — Systems Thinking Skill for AI Agents

Diagnose any situation using the DART systems thinking framework : Deconstruct, Analyze, Recognize, Test.

Inspired by the four system types (Clear, Complicated, Complex, Chaotic) popularized in systems thinking — this skill equips AI agents to:

Deconstruct any problem into its component parts

Analyze the cause-effect relationship to determine the system type

Recognize patterns across domains and past experiences

Test with the smallest possible experiment before committing

Perfect for strategic planning, business problem-solving, product decisions, career dilemmas, and any situation where understanding the system matters more than applying a template.

Install

npx skills add asofyan/dart-framework

Usage

Once installed, present a situation or problem to your agent. The agent will:

Deconstruct the situation into components and connections

Ask clarifying questions if information is incomplete

Diagnose which system you're in (Clear / Complicated / Complex / Chaotic)

Recommend the right approach for that system type

Suggest leverage points — the smallest, highest-impact interventions

Example

You: "My restaurant has a great location but no customers."<br>Agent: [Applies DART framework — deconstructs the system, identifies<br>it as Complicated, pinpoints the visibility problem,<br>and recommends a minimal test]
