What's inside
Everything an IRC client should be in 2026.
Caps you'd actually use. A members list that doesn't choke at 600. Backed by a proper Swift engine, not a fragile shim around a CLI.

01 / IRCv3
First-class capabilities, not a checkbox list.
Capability negotiation, SASL PLAIN & EXTERNAL, server-time, message-tags, chathistory, and batch. Caps are state machines — tested with fixtures from the IRCv3 spec.
saslmessage-tagschathistoryserver-timebatch

02 / Networking
Several networks, one window worth opening.
Per-network connection state, per-channel unread, optimistic joins, real reconnect with backoff. Connect to Libera, OFTC, Ergo, your bouncer — same UI, same shortcuts.
Libera.Chat 3 channels
OFTC offline

03 / Themes
Five themes. Two modes. Never fluorescent.
Mango, Rosé Pine, Rosé Pine Moon, Rosé Pine Dawn, Nord — picked for sustained reading, not for screenshots. Vibrancy washes are real NSVisualEffectView, not faked gradients.

04 / Native
Native, not a webview in a window frame.
Swift 6, SwiftUI, The Composable Architecture. Transport on swift-nio with real TLS 1.3. Tuned for Apple silicon, hardened-runtime, sandboxed, signed by Mediaware.
languageSwift 6.0
uiSwiftUI · TCA 1.25+
transportswift-nio · TLS 1.3

05 / Keyboard
Made for keyboards that earn their keycaps.
Jump palette, slash commands, per-network number switching. Designed first on a 60% keyboard, then made nice for trackpads.
⌘K jump⌘/ commands⌘1‑9 networks

06 / iCloud
One channel list, on every device you own.
Servers, channels, identities, and theme picks travel with you over iCloud. Open Mango on a fresh Mac and find yourself already in #swift. Family Sharing is wired up, if anyone in the household reaches for it.
syncschannels · identities · themes
acrossmacOS · iOS · iPadOS
alsoFamily Sharing

Themes
Pick a temperament.
Tinted vibrancy and dusty pastels, picked for sustained reading. Click a card — the whole site (and the preview above) follows. Want more? Browse the theme store.

Story
Same name, same citrus. Nothing else carries over.

Mango first shipped in 2012. Objective-C, OpenGL, written in a different decade for a different macOS. The original is still on the App Store — increasingly out of place on a Retina, Apple Silicon, vibrancy-everywhere Mac.
3.0 is a complete rewrite. Swift, SwiftUI, The Composable Architecture. A fresh IRC engine on swift-nio, with IRCv3 caps and SASL from day one. The legacy code didn't carry forward; only the name and the colour did.
