EcommerceBytes Publishers Settle Lawsuit with eBay

David and I officially settled the lawsuit we filed in 2021 against eBay and its former executives over the stalking and harassment campaign we endured in 2019 designed to stop our reporting. The landmark civil rights settlement includes $55.7 million in compensation and charitable commitments.
Our lawyer Chris Murphy summed up the reasons we battled it out for over 6 years when he wrote:
"This case was always about more than obtaining financial recovery. From the beginning, our clients wanted to uncover the truth, protect journalists and publishers, hold those responsible accountable, deter future corporate misconduct, and help ensure others would never have to endure what they experienced. Through years of discovery, motion practice and trial preparation, we were able to accomplish those objectives while securing meaningful compensation for two wonderful people. We believe this resolution sends a clear message that corporations and their executives cannot engage in this type of misconduct without facing significant consequences."

Bravo! I wish you had never had to suffer what eBay and its thugs did to you. Huge respect though for pursuing justice - not easy at all, yet more stress and pain. Y'all deserve the compensation, and then some. Every penny. Let's hope eBay and other marketplaces (and frankly all companies) sit up and take notice, and learn. Sadly, I fear many won't. Will they ever learn?

Nice timing, i just watched the documentary last night, even after hearing the story here it was pretty shocking. i'm really glad that you won and got the amount that you did. i said years ago that you should you deserved at least as much as wenig got to leave.
as much as i would hate to lose this site, i would completely understand if you and david decided to go off and live your life in peace.

I think the most important part of this is the compensation from individual officers and employees. So often the execs suffer no consequences. Well done. Sorry it took six years.

I LOVE this for you both. So deserved. What you had to endure was pure evil. THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO.

WTG. Why don't you use the money to create an online selling site to compete against eBay.

Taught them nothing as sociopaths have no conscience.
They continue with their crooked business practices.
Back in the day they used to put a small logo in their header bragging about how they were powered by Microsoft technology. The'r business practices have made Microsoft look like a small time player.
27 years of selling experience on eBay without a single chargeback form customers and they started demanding receipts for every item listed or sold in the last 60 days. Just an attempt to send you a multiple weeks wild goose chase...
