The OneNote feature, for every program

OneNote had "Dock to Desktop": a pane pinned to the side of the screen that stayed visible while everything else worked around it. DeskDock does the same thing for any program — your notes, a chat window, a browser, a terminal. It reserves a strip of the screen through Windows itself, so maximising another window fills only the space that is left. Your docked window is never covered, and you never have to drag it back.

Google Keep docked on the right. Everything else uses the remaining desktop.

Features

Real reserved space

Not just "always on top". Windows shrinks the desktop work area, so maximised windows stop at the dock instead of hiding it.

Up to three windows

Drag in a second and third window — they split the strip vertically and share the height. Reorder them by dragging.

Every monitor

Turn a dock on for any combination of screens. Each one remembers its own width, and comes back on the right monitors next time you sign in.

Drag to dock

Drag a window by its title bar over the strip and let go. Drag it out to undock — the window returns to exactly where it was.

Keyboard shortcuts

Restore your docked windows (Ctrl+Alt+R), jump focus straight back to the dock (Ctrl+Alt+F), or launch a chosen program into it (Ctrl+Alt+L).

Launch anything

Pick from your installed programs, including Microsoft Store apps — no hunting through folders for an .exe.

Menu

One menu, from the dock, the tray icon, or the taskbar button.

App picker

Launch selected program straight into the dock with keyboard shortcut
