Regulators from California, Connecticut, and Colorado are investigating companies’ compliance with browser settings which allow users to opt-out of the sharing of their personal data.<br>The attorneys general of Connecticut, California, and Colorado, as well as the California Privacy Protection Agency, have sent letters to an unspecified number of companies that don’t appear to be processing consumer requests to opt out of the sale of their personal data submitted via the Global Privacy Control (GPC), the regulators said in a press release Tuesday.<br>The GPC is a browser setting that automatically signals consumers’ request to stop selling or sharing their ...
