10 years ago I played A Dark Room. A sparse, minimalist UI, even for back in the day. I played a lot of games back then, but not a single one created such an intense atmosphere. That was when I decided that one day I also want to create a game that focuses more on atmosphere than graphics.I also think now, or at least in the very near future, thanks to AI, it will be quite easy to create nice-looking games. So the biggest differentiator will be atmosphere or emotions that can be created for the player. With A Dark Cave I made a humble attempt at this and I am still actively working on it: a-dark-cave.comThe game mixes quite a few genres: incremental, semi-idle, settlement building, resource management, survival, and more.It is playable in the browser on desktop and mobile. It will also launch on Steam later this year. The game can still feel rough in places. Sound design in particular still needs work.Happy to hear any feedback. Especially whether it creates any atmosphere for you.
