Frequently asked questions
Is it really free?
Yes — 10 summaries a day with no account and no ads, for inputs up to ~25,000 characters. A free account gives you 30 a day, ~55,000-character inputs and chapter summaries. Pro is unlimited with ~500,000-character inputs — about four hours of video.
How long can the input be?
It depends on your tier: about 25,000 characters without an account (~a 15-minute video), 55,000 with a free account (~40 minutes), and ~500,000 on Pro (~4 hours). If your input is over your limit, we tell you exactly which limit you hit instead of silently cutting it off.
Which videos can it summarize?
Any YouTube video that has captions (auto-generated ones count). If a video has no captions at all, paste its transcript into the Text tab instead.
Does it work in my language?
Yes. The summary comes back in the language you're using the site in — pick it from the menu in the top bar. The input can be in any language.
What happens to what I paste?
It's processed on our own servers to produce your summary, kept briefly for abuse prevention, and never sold, published or used to train models. Details in the privacy policy.
Can I trust the summary?
The summarizer only restates what's in the source — it's instructed never to add facts. For anything high-stakes, use the detailed mode and skim the original: a summary is a map, not the territory.
