Sometimes I feel like I’m Phil Connors in Punxsutawney. The launch of Health in ChatGPT earlier this week evoked that emotion for me, as the industry gave OpenAI’s product a debut greeting for what is honestly a relaunch.<br>I am very confused, my friends. ChatGPT Health came out in January! I wrote four thousand words about it. OpenAI’s own January post now carries an update banner pointing forward to last week’s. And yet the coverage was largely feature recaps and the same privacy worries we saw in January. The more useful question seems to have slid by unasked: what did OpenAI change between the version that shipped in January and the one that shipped last week?<br>Quite a lot, as it turns out:<br>The product got a new name and the old one got called legacy.

The privacy architecture that anchored the January announcement was removed.

The connector list was reshuffled.

The company whose infrastructure powered the whole thing in January is not mentioned anywhere in last week’s materials.

Let’s take it all in order.
