What is cloud.microsoft?

cloud.microsoft is an Internet domain owned and operated by Microsoft. This domain is specifically dedicated to Microsoft cloud products and managed to the highest standards of security. It is designed to provide a single and unified home for Microsoft 365 apps and services.

As Microsoft services transition to cloud.microsoft , you may see your desktop and mobile apps, as well as your web browser, connecting to this domain. Redirects will help ensure that those still using older URLs end up in the right place.

In most cases, you won't need to do anything to continue using Microsoft services the same way you used them on legacy domains. IT admins responsible for configuring Microsoft services in their organization, should review the Additional information section below to ensure that the cloud.microsoft domain isn't inadvertently blocked by their infrastructure.

You may also notice that the new domain doesn’t have traditional suffixes such as .com or .net in the end. This is by design. cloud.microsoft resides under the .microsoft top-level domain, for which Microsoft is a registry operator and the sole registrant. This allows for extra security, privacy, and protection against spoofing when you interact with apps within that domain. You can trust that any website or app that ends with cloud.microsoft  is an official Microsoft product or service.
