Your Signature Stays Yours
A signed document is often the most sensitive file you'll handle, since it usually means agreeing to something specific and putting your name on it. Every step of signing, from drawing or uploading your signature to the final download, happens entirely inside your browser.
Your PDF Never Leaves Your Device
Both the page preview and the final signed file are generated using pdf.js and pdf-lib running in your browser tab. Your document's bytes are never transmitted anywhere, including to us.
Your Signature Is Captured Locally
Whether you draw it, upload a photo of it, or type it, your signature is rendered onto a canvas in your own browser. It's never sent to a server just to be turned into an image.
Why Local Processing Matters Here
A contract, a lease, or a form with your name on it is not something you'd want handed to a stranger's server, even briefly. Running pdf-lib on your own device means it's never exposed in transit.
No Page Content Read or Analyzed

Is a Drawn, Uploaded, or Typed Signature Legally Valid?
A signature you draw, upload, or type onto a PDF is generally treated the same as a signature on paper for everyday agreements like quotes, internal forms, and simple contracts. Documents with stricter legal requirements, such as ones requiring notarization or a certificate-based digital signature, may call for a different process than a visual signature placed on the page.
Draw, Upload, or Type: Which Should You Choose?
Drawing with a trackpad, mouse, or touchscreen gives the most natural-looking result and is the closest to a handwritten signature. Uploading a photo works well if you already have your signature on paper. Typing renders your name in a handwriting-style font, a fast option when your device has no trackpad or touchscreen to draw with.

A signature that looks right on a wide signature line can look oversized next to a small initials box. Dragging a corner handle lets you fit the same signature to whatever space the document gives it, while keeping its proportions locked so it never looks stretched.
