Manchester Statistical Society

Manchester Statistical Society was founded in 1833 in response to concerns among a group of residents in Manchester about the impact of ubranisation and industrialisation on society. Its members carried out research with the intention of influencing government policy.

Manchester Statistical Society is one of the oldest statistical societies in the world. It continues to meet to discuss social and economic issues.
