← Home
Trackers and permissions across 308 open-source Android apps.
For every app in the registry whose public APK we've downloaded and unpacked, we check its code for the signatures of known tracker SDKs and read its declared permissions from the manifest — the same check described in full on the methodology page. This page sums those per-app results across the whole catalog: 308 binaries opened, out of 311 apps in the registry.
What a zero means here. A binary we haven't opened yet isn't counted as clean — it's excluded. Every app below the fold has been opened, and "no known tracker" is a result the same way "one known tracker" is, not an absence of data.
binaries analyzed308
permissions requested, avg.10.5
carry a known tracker18 of 308
carry none290
