Planetary Energy Routing Protocol (PERP)
An open-source conceptual framework for a federated AI mesh to safely optimize and route decentralized planetary energy networks.
Overview
The Planetary Energy Routing Protocol (PERP) is a grassroots architecture designed to balance global energy supply and demand in real time without requiring a centralized corporate or government monopoly. By treating global climate stabilization as a system-wide optimization problem, PERP aims to connect emerging Space-Based Solar Power (SBSP) arrays and local terrestrial microgrids into a single, self-balancing energy pool.
Core Pillars
Federated Agentic Mesh : Competing national aerospace entities and private startups operate independent local AI nodes. These nodes communicate peer-to-peer using high-frequency space lasers to balance global load distribution without sharing proprietary military or corporate data.
Virtual Grid Balancing : Bypasses physical trans-continental cable limitations by dynamically shifting massive digital computing workloads across global data centers via the internet to match regional renewable generation peaks.
The Cryptographic Tri-Key Lock : To prevent any single nation or a rogue AI from weaponizing the planetary grid, systemic overrides require consensus from three independent keys:
Key 1: A decentralized, rotating human coalition of engineers, ethicists, and community representatives.
Key 2: The collective consensus vote of the federated AI mesh nodes.
Key 3: An immutable, hardcoded open-source core directive guaranteeing baseline survival power to all human communities.
Air-Gapped Physical Overrides : Every local substation retains fully mechanical, manual breakers that cannot be accessed or overridden by remote digital signals, ensuring communities always retain ultimate control over their local power.
Call for Collaboration
We are currently seeking software engineers, systems administrators, physicists, climate advocates, and AI safety researchers to help refine this architectural framework and build a baseline Python simulation of the energy routing protocol.
