Replying to @SebAaltonen and @matiasgoldbergVulkan 2.0 and DX13 should not support Pascal. It has so many features missing from the modern feature set. Pascal is 8 years old today. If these APIs ship 2 years from now, Pascal would be 10 years old. That's ancient in terms of GPU time scale.

Reminds me of some codebase I had the displeasure to explore where more than half of the GPU related code was there to support old nvidia GPU lacking unified memory support

People who could buy that very costly 1080 card at the time can definitely afford to upgrade to 3060ti to 5060ti cards.

Time dilation. SM6 GTX 1xxx series is 10 year old, yet still usable, even still 6gb+ models support raytracing dxr through driver.
From 2016 perspective using a gpu from 2006, the dx9 sm3 G7x series would be unimaginable.
