Origin is Cursor's git forge for storing and sharing code. Use it to host repositories, sync projects from GitHub, and browse your team's Origin repos in the browser.

What you can do

In early beta you can:

Create Origin repositories, including from Cursor agents

Clone, push, and pull with standard git

Mirror a GitHub repository into Origin

Open, review, and merge pull requests

Browse and search code at cursor.com/codebase

Manage repository settings and codebase settings

Connect third-party apps (Vercel, Depot, and Buildkite) from repository settings

Connect automations and cloud agents to Origin repos

Install the Origin CLI for terminal workflows

Who can access

Origin code storage is available on Pro, Teams, and Enterprise plans. It is not available on free plans. Access opens in stages, so you may not see Origin immediately after it becomes available for your plan.

Privacy

Origin follows the Privacy Mode of the namespace owner: the team or the individual who owns the repo.

Enable Origin

Before your team can use Origin, someone has to claim a codebase name. The codebase name is the namespace your repositories live under, the {owner} in https://cursor.com/codebase/{owner}/{repo}.

Any team member can claim the codebase name: open cursor.com/codebase, select Get Started , and follow the setup flow

Admins can disable Origin for the team at any time from the dashboard

Teams on legacy privacy mode cannot enable Origin, so switch to Privacy Mode first if you want access

Once the codebase name is claimed, admins can create repositories and grant repository access to the rest of the team from codebase settings.

Repo list

After Origin is enabled, cursor.com/codebase shows your team's repositories.

Search with Find repo...

Create a repo with New , or bring one over with Sync from GitHub

Open a repo to browse code, pull requests, and settings

Repo icons show how each repo is hosted: Origin-hosted repos, and repos synced from GitHub.

Next steps

Install the Origin CLI
