Can I convert a .jxl back to JPG or PNG?Yes. The tool works both ways: turn images into JPEG XL, or open a .jxl file and convert it back to PNG or JPG.

Why can't my browser open .jxl files yet?Safari supports JPEG XL, and Chrome 145 brought the decoder back in 2026 — but Chrome still keeps it off by default. Until that changes, converting .jxl back to PNG/JPG here lets you view and share them anywhere.
